Emma Garfitt joined Blacks Solicitors in March 2018 and is a Senior Associate in the Residential Department.
Qualifying in 2000, Emma worked in conveyancing both residential and commercial. In 2004 she became a non-practicing solicitor and worked as a Senior University Lecturer specialising in Land Law, Property Law and Practice and all areas of Landlord and Tenant and Commercial Property. During this time Emma obtained an LL.M with distinction in Commercial Property, in addition to publishing in a number of articles in leading property journals and a textbook on Land Law. In 2018 Emma returned to private practice joining Blacks Solicitors.
Emma has considerable experience of all aspects of property transaction work including, freehold and leasehold sales, purchases, transfers of equity and refinancing. Whilst acting for both individual and corporate clients, she specialises in acting for investor clients and portfolio transactions.
